Job DescriptionCoca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Business Partner Commercial, to join the Group Human Resources team in the Human Resources division in CCBA. The successful applicant will be reporting into the Chief People Officer (CPO) with a matrix reporting line to the Head of Commercial. The Group Business Partner Commercial is a senior level resource and their work contributes significantly to the success of the Commercial Function in the business. The Group Business Partner Commercial is accountable for the leadership of all aspects of Human Resources for the enterprise Commercial function. They act as strategic partner to the leaders of the Commercial function at both corporate and country level, and they contribute to the success of the function by actively shaping strategy, and supports the achievement of the Commercial functions business plans and targets, by providing HR Strategic direction, specialist support, transactional HR support and HR governance. To ensure that the Commercial function has access to the best fit talent at the right time and the employees in the function are high-performing, engaged and productive, the Group HR Business Partner is responsible for: Ensuring the provision of innovative and professional HR services and solutions. Building diverse teams through strategic recruitment and development efforts. Driving organisational transformation by anticipating and facilitating change. Championing the people in the function and ensuring their engagement and wellness. Using their deep business acumen to drive the transformation of business challenges into HR Strategy. The objective of this position is to ensure that the HR function enables, supports, and contributes to the transformation of the strategic and operational objectives of the enterprise commercial functions by ensuring that that the function have access to best fit human resources to execute work. However, it is equally important that the Commercial function also has access to best practice human resource solutions, processes and practices that promote the successful management and operation of the people in the function. They influence and provide inputs into the Group Human Resources strategy and ensure that the priorities of their business focus area is represented in the Group HR strategy, plans and roadmaps. They act as the liaison between the Commercial function and HR in CCBA by sharing the Commercial strategy and objectives, updating HR colleagues on projects and initiatives in the Commercial function and ensuring that the interest of the Commercial function is represented during HR decision making discussions. As the specialists in the centralised HR function build out new HR solutions and processes, the Group HR Business Partner will contribute by providing inputs during the design phase of the solutions, performing reviews of the progress of the development, and assisting in testing and piloting components of the solution. The Group HR Business Partner is also instrumental in socialising new and updated HR solutions and processes with the business, overseeing the deployment plans for their business focus area and ensuring the successful adoption of new solutions and processes. This employee engages at a senior and strategic level with other enterprise leaders. They influence and collaborate with managers and they influence strategies, practices and processes across the Commercial function of the enterprise and play an important transformative role by leading change.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesEstablishing and maintaining sound relationships with all major role players in the Commercial function at a group and a country level amongst the senior leadership teams and regularly meeting with them to understand their human resource related concerns and constraints. Acting as a trusted advisor and coach to the leaders in the commercial function. Using leadership and professional influence to position Commercial function HR initiatives on the agenda of corporate HR and country HR teams. Developing a good understanding of the different components of the Commercial function and the plans and strategies for the function. Sharing HR related news, roadmaps and plans with stakeholders in the Commercial function on a regular basis. Sharing Commercials related news, roadmaps and plans with colleagues in Human Resources. Representing the interests of the Commercial function in HR planning forums and decision making. Using well developed business acumen to understand and contribute to the Commercial function strategy and plans. Building deep expertise on the strategies and operations of the different Commercial teams to identify potential requirements and business benefits to be gained from innovative HR solutions and processes. Leading and facilitating workshops and discussions with business leaders that require HR solutions. Providing constructive input to the Commercial function by asking incisive questions and analysing the business requirements to begin the discovery process. Identifying the business requirements and developing the current constraints and potential solutions to address. Creating business cases for projects that require larger and significant interventions and budget. Creating a Human Resources strategy for the Commercial function that reflects the plans and objectives to address HR related strategic requirements in the function. Determining and documenting budget requirements for new HR solutions, obtaining sign-off and managing the Commercial HR budget. Socialising the Commercial HR strategy with stakeholders in the Commercial function and in Human Resources. Ensuring the Commercial HR strategy is aligned to the strategy and plans for CCBA Group HR. Continuously maintaining and updating the Commercial HR Strategy and Plans during the year. Identifying specific HR needs for the Commercial function by describing these needs and creating potential solution options to address these needs. Engaging relevant HR Specialists colleagues and counterparts in the Group HR team to explain the business requirements. Collaborating with the HR specialists to brainstorm and select best fit solutions and contributing inputs into the design/selection of the solution. Evaluating the solution during the different phases of development and contributing feedback together with the Senior Commercial Team. Guiding the testing of solutions before deployment. Planning for deployment and adoption of solutions with HR colleagues in country and acting as the project lead to deploy Commercial solutions. Tracking the use, adoption and review of solutions and providing feedback to Group HR for continuous improvements. Reviewing and prioritising any logged or received Commercial HR requests. Exploring the nature, cause, and detail of business requirements through conversations with Commercial business colleagues. Providing or sourcing if necessary specialist HR advice, support or service. Ensuring that other requests are logged with the HR Group specialist teams or in-country HR teams depending on the nature of the request. Drafting and sharing communication with users to alert them to new HR solutions and services that are specific to the Commercial function. Determining the level of competence and knowledge of HR solution users in the Commercial business. Preparing supporting material and collateral to assist business users in using HR solutions. Providing or enable user training to groups of users when solutions, processes or services are made available. Planning milestones for deliverables and deployment and creating a plan that visualises the timeline. Meeting regularly with Commercial function stakeholders to identify, agree and prioritise HR project priorities. Meeting regularly with HR specialists to share Commercial function related insights and to learn about plans and developments in the HR specialist teams. Meeting regularly with the HR Business Partner team members and his/her manager to report progress, raise issues and brainstorm solutions. Contributing to the shared knowledge of the team by sharing insights, understanding and experiences. Supporting internal improvement initiatives within the HR department to ensure continuous business improvement. Performing required administrative requirements such as reports, time sheets, leave requests, performance progress feedback and general requests.
Skills, Experience & EducationQualifications: The minimum qualification required for this job is an Honours, Masters or Doctorate Degree, in Industrial Psychology, Human Resources or Organisational Development. Experience 12 to 14 years’ experience in a Human Resources corporate or consulting environment with at least 7 years focused on working in one or more of the talent domains.
